Anointing of the Sick is a Sacrament available for the faithful who are ill, facing surgery, aging, or desiring God's healing power in times of sickness. The Sacrament is administered by a bishop or priest.This sacrament is offered periodically after weekend Masses during the year and by request. 

The epistle of James (5:14-15) notes that anointing the sick and infirm with oil, in the name of the risen Jesus, will help strengthen them and heal them. In the New Testament anointing alludes to joy, honor, healing of the sick and the forgiveness of sin.
