OUR THEME
The Eucharist: Liturgy & Life—Become What You Receive
Jesus' presence is not merely something outside,
but God wishes to draw believers closer into His presence,
to transform us, to help Catholics truly become what we receive.
Gather with us as we seek a clearer understanding of God's presence in the Eucharist.
WATCH FAITH DAY
OUR PRESENTERS & THEIR MESSAGES
We'll have renowned speakers, including our own Fr. Bernie and Fr. Martin.
In addition to our two priests, Fr. Godfrey Mullen, rector of the Cathedral of the Diocese of Belleville, IL,
former rector of St. Benedict Cathedral, will be with us for the afternoon.
They will help us appreciate and enter into the mysteries of the Eucharist—communion and community. It’s a day you won’t want to miss!

Fr. Godfrey Mullen, OSB For centuries, Catholics have been learning about the Eucharistic Mystery throughout their entire lives. In 2007, Pope Benedict XVI issued the document Sacramentum Caritatis (The Sacrament of Charity), with the goal of helping the faithful clearly see what we BELIEVE about the Eucharist, how we CELEBRATE the Mass and then how we LIVE daily what we believe and celebrate. Christ, in the Eucharist, draws us more deeply into our faith, the mystery we celebrate and the life we are to live as His disciples. We’ll spend less time studying and more time falling in love with the person of Christ in the Eucharistic mystery: amazed at His mercy, His mystery, His love. |
Fr. Bernie Etienne In this opportunity to walk through the celebration of the Mass, we will gain an explanation of the celebrations progression. Hopefully, we will attain a greater understanding of the ancient signs and symbols that contribute to our Sunday Celebration while at the same time, be able to enter more deeply into the great mystery of the Eucharist. |
Fr. Martin Estrada We always seek to see and feel the presence of God. We can find Him in the beauty of nature, in a sunrise, in our brothers and sisters, but in the Eucharist we can find Him in the real presence. We will meditate and reflect on the adoration of Jesus in the Eucharist and how it helps us get closer to Him and to others. We will have a moment to experience His presence together. |
