Eucharistic Renewal
Beginning on June 19, 2022, the Diocese of Evansville kicked off a Eucharistic Renewal in which our parishes, schools and diocesan offices are participating! At the same time, ALL of the Catholic dioceses in the United States are holding a Eucharistic Renewal (“revival” on the national level). Eventually, the Renewal will culminate in a National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis from July 17–21, 2024.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops pointed to the following reasons for why a Eucharistic Renewal is so important: ​“In 2019, a Pew Research Study revealed that less than one-third of self-identified Catholics expressed a belief in the Real Presence. Less than a year later, the COVID-19 crisis forced the Church in the U.S. to suspend public liturgies. During this crisis, many of the faithful expressed a renewed desire for the Eucharist, but there is also a concern that some may lose the sense of the need for the Eucharist and not come back to regular mass attendance. Beyond these significant developments lies a deeper concern, which is the loss of the robust Eucharistic mindset of the Church in her faithful.…The fact of Catholics not knowing or believing in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist signifies a profound loss of identity that needs to be regained.”

​4 Goals of the Eucharistic Renewal for Our Diocese:

1. Believe: Foster belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
2. Worship: Foster attendance at Mass, as well as valuing Mass in its entirety.
3. Live: Encourage living in such a way so as to reflect the Eucharist in our daily lives.
4. Share: Encourage sharing the truth, beauty and goodness of Mass with others so that they in turn may be drawn to it.

Throughout the next year, the Diocese of Evansville will provide for us a Traveling Eucharistic Miracle Exhibit based on the work of Blessed Carlo Acutis. We’ll host a different part of the exhibit about every 6 weeks. Placards will be on display in the Atrium with stories of Eucharistic Miracles from around the world. Renovación Eucarística
¡A partir del 19 de junio de 2022, la Diócesis de Evansville inició una Renovación Eucarística en la que participan nuestras parroquias, escuelas y oficinas diocesanas! Al mismo tiempo, TODAS las diócesis católicas en los Estados Unidos están llevando a cabo una Renovación Eucarística ("reavivamiento" a nivel nacional). Eventualmente, la Renovación culminará en un Congreso Eucarístico Nacional en Indianápolis del 17 al 21 de julio de 2024.

La Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de los Estados Unidos señaló las siguientes razones por las que una Renovación Eucarística es tan importante: “En 2019, un estudio de investigación de Pew reveló que menos de un tercio de los autoidentificados católicos expresaron su creencia en la Presencia Real. Menos de un año después, la crisis del COVID-19 obligó a la Iglesia en los EE. UU. a suspender las liturgias públicas. Durante esta crisis, muchos de los fieles expresaron un deseo renovado por la Eucaristía, pero también existe la preocupación de que algunos puedan perder el sentido de la necesidad de la Eucaristía y no volver a asistir a misa con regularidad. Más allá de estos desarrollos significativos yace una preocupación más profunda, qué es la pérdida de la sólida mentalidad eucarística de la Iglesia en sus fieles... El hecho de que los católicos no conozcan o crean en la Presencia Real de Cristo en la Eucaristía significa una profunda pérdida de identidad que hay que recuperarlo”.

4 Metas de la Renovación Eucarística para Nuestra Diócesis:

1. Creer: Fomentar la creencia en la Presencia Real de Jesús en la Eucaristía.
2. Culto: Fomentar la asistencia a Misa, así como valorar la Misa en su totalidad.
3. Vivir: animar a vivir de tal manera que se refleje la Eucaristía en nuestra vida diaria.
4. Compartir: Anime a compartir la verdad, la belleza y la bondad de la Misa con otros para que ellos a su vez se sientan atraídos por ella.

A lo largo del próximo año, la Diócesis de Evansville nos brindará una Exhibición Itinerante de Milagros Eucarísticos basada en el trabajo del Beato Carlo Acutis. Organizaremos una parte diferente de la exhibición aproximadamente cada 6 semanas. Se exhiben 10 carteles en el Atrio con historias de Milagros Eucarísticos de todo el mundo.
