Faith Day Workshop Descriptions

Faith Day 2012 – Parents, have your children sometimes seemed a handful? How many are there? Two? Three? Four? How about 34?  Meet Mary-Jo and Michael Jackson. They had seven children, then adopted 27 more. That’s no misprint; they adopted 27 more. Adding to the challenge, most of those adopted have special needs.

You will get a chance to meet Mary-Jo and Michael, or at least hear their story, if you attend Faith Day 2012 at Holy Rosary on Saturday, Feb. 25. They are among an outstanding group of speakers the Faith Day Committee has lined up for the third annual event.  Bishop Charles Thompson will keynote Faith Day 2012. He will be among seven religious leaders on the program, along with about the same number of outstanding lay speakers.   Other religious who are scheduled to lead 45-minute sessions include Father Godfrey Mullen and Father Jeremy King, both monks at Saint Meinrad Archabbey; Sister Jane Nesmith, pastoral coordinator and administrator at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Evansville; Sister Lisa Stallings, vicar of the Sisters of Providence at Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind.; Father Alex Zenthoefer, associate pastor at Holy Rosary; and Father Bernie Etienne, Holy Rosary pastor and vicar general of the diocese.  Outstanding lay people in addition to the Jacksons who will lead sessions include Pat Koch, a former nun who has performed extraordinary volunteer work in Southern Indiana; Missy Brundick McNabb, an educator who earned three master’s degrees and a principal’s license; Steve Dabrowski, director of the diocesan Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry; and Joan Fredrich, Holy Rosary principal.  Music for the closing session will be provided by the Holy Rosary Music Department under the direction of Jill Jackson.  Faith Day 2012 will open with registration beginning at 8:15 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. A fee of $12, which covers morning refreshments, lunch and printed materials, will be discounted to $10 if you register by Feb. 22. To register, call the Parish Office at 477-8923.

Previous Faith Days have received excellent evaluations from participants, and this one promises to be the best yet. Don’t miss it!
