Ministry Schedule

Click on the date below to access the currrent ministry schedule.
June 11 - September 13, 2010.

In the Ministry Room, all ministers are asked to sign in and check the bulletin board for messages from your Ministry Leaders. Please watch for special instructions, particularly during Holy Week services.

A reminder for Eucharistic Ministers: With the new purification of vessels process, ministers of the cup should note the following changes. After distribution of the Precious Blood is complete:

  • Go to the credence table behind the lectionary;

  • Consume the remaining precious blood as usual;

  • Place chalice on the credence table and purificator in a stacked pile on the table.

  • Return to your seat. The presider will purify the chalices.

With the welcomed addition of Deacon Chris Borowiecki to our staff, we will need to make some changes to the liturgical rites. Please read the following information, as it may apply to the ministry in which you are involved:

LectorsLectors will no longer carry the Lectionary in the processional. The Lectionary will already be located on the ambo before Mass. We ask that you take the time before Mass to go to the ambo, be sure the Lectionary and Prayers of the Faithful are in place there, review the readings and intercessory prayers, and then join the processional from the vestibule. When Deacon Chris is assisting the presiding priest, the Lector should close the Lectionary after the second reading, place it below the ambo and be seated in the pews. Deacon Chris will read the Prayers of the Faithful when he is assisting.

Eucharistic MinistersWhen Deacon Chris is assisting the presiding priest, he will always serve as a Eucharistic Minister, and should be included in the count of the Eucharistic Ministers at the altar. Be aware that the number of Eucharistic Ministers scheduled for each Mass will not change, as Deacon Chris’ Mass schedule will vary. Please keep in mind that even though you are on the schedule, you may not be needed as a Eucharistic Minister at a Mass for which Deacon Chris is serving.

Ushers: Just a reminder that the collection bag should be sealed when it is placed in the basket and taken to the altar. Also, please use the bag that is specifically marked for the Mass at which you are serving.

Greeters: At a recent workshop, we were reminded that hospitality can be the difference between a good parish and a GREAT parish. You are on the front lines of Holy Rosary’s hospitality. Please continue your efforts to make parishioners and visitors alike feel welcomed to our services.

All Liturgical Ministers: We continue to encourage the Liturgical Ministers to attend their scheduled Masses or find substitutes to fill in for them. A sign-in book is located in the Ministry Room, off of the vestibule, for Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters, Lectors and Ushers to indicate their attendance.

Please contact the appropriate Ministry Leader if you have questions or concerns, and as always we ask that you find subs when you are unable to attend your assigned service.

Saint of the Day

Saint of the Day
  • St. Gregory the Great (September 3, 2010)
    Coming events cast their shadows before: Gregory was the prefect of Rome before he was 30. After five years in office he resigned, founded six monasteries on his Sicilian estate and became a Benedictine monk in his own home at Rome.
